Welcome!

They say "write what you know," so that's what I'm trying to do. On this blog, I'll be sharing ideas, insights, and cool stuff that I run across in my march toward a Ph.D. in astrophysics. I'm also keenly interested in technology, education, science communication, and internet freedoms -- so those subjects will likely find a home here, as well.

If you are struggling through graduate school, I'll share the best piece of advice I've ever received: Don't Panic. Learn, discover, explore, teach, and create. You are probably plagued with self-doubt -- we all are. What's important is what you do with the skills you have cultivated, not how perfect those skills are. Find something that keeps you going and cling to that. The discomfort you feel is both natural and temporary.
